This week sees the start of the New Zealand International Comedy Festival in Wellington and Auckland. There’s a nice glossy programme that’s been out for a few months or you can check the website to decide what to see.
In amongst all this excitement, I’m also in the throes of getting ready for two of three of the Wellington Improv Troupe’s offerings in Comedy Festival. Next Tuesday, CSI: Wainui – Forensic Improv Comedy opens at BATS Theatre. And this Sunday I’m in the first semi-final of All Star Micetro.
There’s heaps of talent in town for the festival – it’s a great chance to get out and see something and there really is something for everyone. The first week is traditionally slow in terms of audiences as everyone clicks that it’s actually happening so all the more reason to head out and check something out.
If you don’t really know what you might like to see, head down to the Comedy Booth at Midland Park, 157 Lambton Quay for 2-4-1 tickets. It’s open from 12-2pm & 5-6pm today and probably other days too. Follow @NZComedyFest on Twitter for news and updates.
